Tough Mudder is an endurance event race pitting participants against obstacles on a course that can be as long as 12 miles. Co-founded by Will Dean, a former British counter-terrorism officer and Guy Livingstone, a former corporate lawyer, the obstacles challenge common fears like water, electricity and heights and in the case of this race (at Beaver Creek, Colorado), altitude and snow. Most participants form teams and – as you can see from the outfits – fun is at the core of this challenging race. The first Tough Mudder challenge was in 2010.
